This week in LIFT we learned about Primates!

-We read through books about monkeys, gorrillas, lemurs and more primates, and then played some super fun games!

It was another great week at LIFT!

March 17th

We did poetry this week.

-We read quite a few classic rhymes and the kids got to pick out their favorites.
-We practiced rhyming and talked about different rhythms in poetry.
-The kids also made their own poems! they were so creative!

no bones about it.... : - )

We learned about the human skelaton this week!
The kids had a blast playing games, memorizing names of bones and making crafts and drawing!

Shocking class!!!

This week we learned about Static Electricity!!!!
and did some super cool science experiments!

One of the most 'electrifying' experiments was- making a floresent light bulb glow and light up by rubbing statically charged balloons on it!

Stonehenge and Great Britian

This week in LIFT, we learned about Stonehenge, and Great Britian!

After learning about Stonehenge, (and everyone locating it on the globe)The kids actually got to build a model of it with wooden blocks!
They had a picture of the real Stonehenge to use as a blue print, and had to figure out how to make it with blocks. They did a great job!
Then we learned about Great Britian! The kids made "union Jacks" (a.k.a British flags) While we discussed british life, words, government, geography and history.

It was a great class!

What we did in LIFT class

This week we learned very porpoise-ly....we learned about dolphins! :)

The kids asked so many great questions and enjoyed learning!

Here are some things we did...
- felt and compared different types of salt while discussing the ocean
- Did a science experiment to see if we could make an egg float (IT DID!)
- Watched some footage of dolphins
- Read a fantastic book about dolphins and discussed it
- Made a dolphin craft

I am really enjoying working with your kids!

Grandma Moses!

We learned about American folk artist Grandma Moses this last class.
The kids even got a chance to attempt to paint folk art like Grandma Moses.

Ask your kids who Grandma Moses is! :)

It was a great class, and the kids soaked it all in! all of the kids are really thriving this semester!
